:: Estoy solo. No hay nadie en el espejo. ::'Estoy solo. No hay nadie en el espejo. ' This is a 'cita' in spanish, meaning quotation... also called cita celébre or ‘frase popular'. 'Frase' means sentence. This quote literally means: I am alone. There is no one in the mirror. But heh heh, i usually don't like to translate such quotes into english, it spoils the beauty of it. i chose this quote cuz i liked it's simplicity and its poetic beauty. oh and it's by Jorge Luis Borges. Here's a little bit of background about him:
An Argentine poet, essayist and short-story writer, most of whose tales embrace universal themes - the often recurring circular labyrinth can be seen as a metaphor of life or a riddle which theme is time. Following his recovery after a severe head wound, he became an extremely prolific and respected writer. Despite becoming blind due to a congenital defect that was hereditary in his family, he continued to publish his works. Regretably, although his name was often mentioned in speculations about the Nobel Prize, Borges never became a Nobel Laureate.
This is my favourite paragraph: 'El mañana no le está aseguarado a nadie, joven o viejo. Hoy puede ser la última vez que veas a los que amas. Por eso no esperes más, hazlo hoy, ya que si el mañana nunca llega, segurament lamentarás el dÃa que no tomaste timepor para una sonrisa, un abrazo, un beso y que estuviste muy ocupado para concederles un última deseo.'
