i watched 'passion of the christ' yesterday... it was good! i forgot that it would be in hebrew but it was fantastic! i mean, the movie wouldn't be half as good if it weren't in hebrew, there was some latin as well, and i managed to pick out some words cuz it's a bit like italian. :)
unlike many epics, this movie wasn't the least bit draggy, it's was just nice. it didn't glorify anything or any religion either so i think it's a very good portrayal of history as the producer interpreted it. i'm not sure whether it's 'by the book' or not, but then it's still a very good movie to watch.
yep, it really stimulates ur lacrimal glands... and this doesn't always happen to me. was a good type of crying, kind of feel relieved after doing it, so peeps, those watching this movie, pls don't hold back your tears, you'll feel like a load's off your shoulders when you cry it.
As for the bloodshed and violence, um.. yeah, some parts of it can get bloody, but i guess that's just an accurate portrayal, scientifically speaking, who wouldn't shed that much blood if you had to go thru such an ordeal, rite? if you take the violence and blood as a part of the content of the movie you wouldn't feel so much about it. i believe that what should strike the moviegoer is the high emotions of such a scene, not the brutality... but the kind of love/respect/whatever you would call it, i can't say for sure what emotion that is, that you feel for a man willing to suffer for the sins of the world.
yup, it's a good movie, nothing religious about it, so i really don't think that there's a diff for a christian or non-christian. great watch... just don't try to bring in any popcorn or those junk food, i doubt you'll have the appetite for it, and um... do bring in lots of fluids (as long as there's a toilet within the theatre)!
