:: transcribing work ::i'm currently doing transcribing for my cousin. she's doing her phd and she just started her exploratory study. exploratory means that it's the first study to be done, and the results of the study will be used to construct the final survey. yah, actually i was supposed to help her interview bizad students of NUS/NTU after my exams but cuz an exploratory study isn't very easy to conduct, so i'm doing the transcribing part for her instead. Well, it's good anyway, i think i'd be better at transcribing then exploring especially since i'm not the one doing the phd i don't exactly know what to probe for the best results. i've done my first transcript so far... it was only 22min long but the transcribing takes up to 2.5hrs! horrifying right? it's super tiring, fingers, shoulders ache, even ears began to ache hahah... but it was quite enjoyable, funny... very interesting to hear what the student had to say about his course, school and other stuff... for a year one, i thought he was pretty mature. yup so it was a great experience, an eye-opener i would say! i'm looking forward to the other recordings...
now gonna go transcribe!
