:: moi, the disgraceful slacker ::i've been guilty of slacking... cuz i borrowed three vcds over a period of 8days... and have watched two already. ahhh and gone to the movies on tuesday! oops! the first was mona lisa smile, starring julia roberts, and 3 more girls. it's really a meaningful movie! i think that it tells us not to accept our 'role', to accept the 'traditions' that bind us or the expectations that others have of us, but to listen to our heart, to follow what we want. it'll be hard, going against the said 'rules' of one's society, to go against the wishes of those you love and respect, but if you believe in your choice and believe that you will be able to do 'good' with it, then we should pursue our dreams! i do know of a few people whom i hope will do something like this, and not just give in and be too cowardly to fight for their dreams. i would prefer to fight for my dream and fail in it then have never tried to pursue my own dreams!
the next movie's 'el otro lado de la cama' the other side of the bed, spanish film. great one! it's really super funny, ironic in a way, yet witty, some parts can be a little corny, cuz u've got ur actors and actresses breaking out into song and dance! haha... i'm going to get the dvd if i can. can watch it a few more times, it's really a cool comedy. hahah plus all the actors and actresses are so good-looking!
then tonight, i just watched 'hable con ella', talk to her, spanish film again. well i watched this around hmmmm almost a year ago? i can't really rem. but wow, now i suddenly realised, time really flies, it just slips through my hands like sand. too fine to be grasped. yup, hable con ella is also a film worth watching, v artistic and nice music, great choreography. the thing i like about european films (excluding UK) are that they are never direct, rarely do i meet american films that are so subtle, yet so profound. one glance, one scene, one moment of silence, holds so many possibilities so many innsinuations in such films, american films are normally louder, straightforward, all action, huge budget, large fan fare kind of films. great for movies of cuz, but not much for film appreciation.
anyway, i've got one last vcd: spanish apartment, which i missed in the cinemas the last time, i'm bent on watching it! haha after many of my frds have been saying how good it is!
