venerdì, settembre 24, 2004 :: blogging's a good outlet for stress! ::stressed stressed... been trying to absorb as much info about aplastic anaemia, pernicious anaemia and acute leukemia... argh! actually i think haematology is quite a fascinating topic... i like BLOOD... lolz... smells so iron-ie... and tastes kinda salty and dunno, it's that kind of taste that no one will ever forget! but... i dun like lymph-y stuff... those lymphomas, lymphocytic, lymphoblastic... urgh! just went to see wenkebach's blog, he's stressing me out more! ahhhh not to say, EW as well... @@ <- my eyes after i read the blog. sigh. i got so much to catch up on! i've been thinking about R's cofm patient. tomorrow i got lots of ask about, i plan to call up DSA and DSS to ask whether they've got some subsidy for prosthesis and i got to drop by CareLink in the morning to learn more abt prosthesis, see if there's a solution to his problem. one thing that made me feel SO ASHAMED of ALL singaporeans... our patient, mr arthur (name changed to protect his identity), has a below knee amputation (BKA) and due to abrasion fr his prosthesis, has to stay at home for up to 6wks so that the blister heals properly (it takes tt long cuz he has diabetes mellitus (DM)). his relationships with all his relatives/wife/children are strained/sour. he lives all alone. anyway, i'm so ashamed that his only friends are the bangla-boys whom he has befriended at the coffeeshop he frequents almost daily. they would buy him dinner, visit him when he's homebound, call him up to ask how he is and stuff like that... it's sad that NOT a single local at the coffee shop has befriended him... cuz i'm sure there're other pple whittling their time off there. haiz... perhaps, the recent comment that there's a limit to singaporeans' helpfulness is true after all...
