mercoledì, dicembre 08, 2004 :: looking forwards to ENT posting ::i think i'm turning deaf! perhaps i didn't notice the signs in the past. since young, i've always been the odd 'kid' who isn't able to remember song titles or song lyrics... though i could get a drift of the tune. then later on, i realised that i just wasn't really interested in listening to the radio because i wasn't able to catch the lyrics... nowadays, i realised that i'm turning the tv volume in my room higher and higher, yet i still use the same volume for the tv outside... so is that a problem of my ears or the different acoustics in both places? recently, i'm unable to catch my brother speak, but then dunno whether it's a problem of him mumbling or my ears? in addition, when i was taking spanish, i realised that my ability to catch spoken spanish wasn't as good as my classmates'. hmmm but it improved after lots and lots and lots of hardwork. :S worse, my own cg mates and ex-cg mates have realised that they normally need to repeat something thrice before i get it. during clinic sessions, i'm v prone to hearing the wrong things or not hearing things clearly :( sometimes i even have problems catching what the patient said. hmmm, am i speaking louder than usual? cuz i think pple who are deaf normally speak very loudly so that they can hear ourselves better and also they speak with a weird toneless voice? so am i going deaf? or perhaps there's nothing wrong with my cochlear ganglion and nerve endings but just something wrong with my BRAIN!
