:: all you wanna know about the laugh ::HAHAHAHAHA = hearty laughter (when something's really funny)
haha = usually a mere filler, pls do not use indiscriminately. for eg. if someone's telling you about her unfortunate sprain that required her leg to be casted, do not use 'haha' intermittently because she'll give you a virtual kick to your balls (if you're a guy) or a nasty brazilian wax (if you're a gal).
ROFL = rolling on floor laughing, sounds very dog-like.
LMAO = laughing my ass off
ROFL + LMAO = ROFLMAO (if you can't figure this out, you're not fit to laugh)
hia hia hia = evil laughter; if high-pitched: evil cackles
tee hee = trying to be cute, aka vinny the little vampire
heh heh heh/hei hei hei = evil-funny laughter / 'hei' seems to be the prefered way of spelling of the mainland Chinese.
hur hur = usually contains a tinge of sarcasm / Eugene's laughter?
aha! = this is an exclamation not unlike *eureka, but the discovery is not as significant as Archimedes'.
ha. ha. ha. = sarcastic laughter, or laughter used for something that is not funny at all.
hah! = scoffing laughter
hee hee hee = gleeful laughter
lol = laughing out loud
lolz = i still dunno why pple add a 'z' at the end
lolx = this is usually a typo error, it's supposed to be 'z', for meaning, refer above to for meaning.
hohoho = copyrighted to Santa Claus
hiihii = an alternative for heehee
buahahaha = evil laughter/gloating laughter
muahahaha = evil laughter / ahleong's laughter
hic hic hic = drunk laughing
huuu huu huuu = liang po po laughing
ha haa haaa haaaa aaaaa ha haa haaa haaaa = wenky's laughter?
hehheeheehehehehhehehhheehehehehe = laughter of one with ventricular fibrillation (provided he/she can still laugh)
hahahaahahahahaahaahahahahaa = the one with the Mobitz Type II phenomenon
hhahhahhahhahhahhahha = the one with the 2:1 heartblock
finally, one of the most controversial of laughs:
heh
1. sth like an 'afterlaugh' like an 'afterword', ie. after one types/writes out what sth, he/she finds it funny (to him/herself) and adds in a 'heh'.
2. lazy people who don't bother to add in an 'e' after the 'heh'.
3. conveys the idea that one is self-satisfied with one's remark (finding it funny to him/herself)
initially i thought it might carry some notion of sarcasm, but i change my stand, i think it doesn't after all.
*Eureka: 1. (cap.) I have found (it): the reputed exclamation of Archimedes when, after long study, he discovered a method of detecting the amount of alloy mixed with the gold in the crown of the king of Syracuse.
