:: diarrhoea ::

see now i'm suffering from blog diarrhoea... and also real-life diarrhoea. i've been getting stomach upset every morning and at least a few times daily for 2 days :( and my stomach feels so ooky! i keep thinking of H. pylori happily infesting my gastric mucosa...

anyway just an incident worth mentioning:
yesterday, a non-uniformed man approached my flat... and my mother answered the door. he claimed himself as having been sent by HDB to inspect the door for safety, and requested that my mother open the door for him to conduct the check. he also claimed that HDB has specified that all homes have to have their doors checked (like the time we all had to have our window grills checked). luckily my mum 'got brains' k...
first she asked for identification,
he didn't have it... he just produced one of those flyers that showed how doors could be unsafe and so on.
then she asked why wasn't he carrying any tools with him?
he said they weren't needed... and insisted my mother open the door to let him in.
then my mother said, ok, i'll have to call up HDB to verify this.
he immediately said, ok that's alright, i'll come back again some other time.

i've never met a liar as lousy as he was. no uniform, not even a fake id, no tools...

a chill goes down my spine when i think of how guilible people eg. maids and the elderly in my block might just open the door for the 'wolf'. either they get fleeced or they get robbed...
